TR33 – Low-Skill Music Adventure

Reinterpretation of Walking Simulators in a Music-Game-Context

In the master thesis «Low-Skill Music Adventures», Adventures are defined and discussed as a complementary concept to walking simulators. Related games are analyzed to use the insights gained to generate and test ideas for exciting and motivating low-skill music adventures.

In my game the focus is on music, that's why I decided to use low contrast pixel art. It provides the game with a high degree of abstraction on the visual level, at the sime time offering limited information.

Andi Bissig (*1985) is a musician, sound designer and game designer. He studied saxophone and electronic music at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). Andi graduated in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Jazz Performance. Since 2011 he has been active in the Swiss Games Scene and created music and sound for games such as «Niche», «Airheart», «Exercube» and «Mirage». Since 2013 he has designed games with music mechanics. In 2017 he started as a teacher focusing on sound design in the Digital Ideation program at HSLU.
